I hold a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy (first class honours), a master’s degree in Critical Theory (with distinction) and am about to start reading for a PhD in Literature and Ecology. As I have worked as a teaching assistant and an academic mentor to undergraduate students, I have an intimate understanding of the requirements of the academic system. Between degrees I travelled extensively, engaging in community projects and learning from other cultures. I write for pleasure and publication in the genres of travel writing, poetry and journalism and delight in the craftsmanship of language. I have participated in several open educational projects which seek to challenge the exclusivity of academia and develop alternative models of learning.
