Felicity Fotherington Smythe

About me:

I am currently working as a research fellow at a University in the south of England. I am part of a team working on research focusing on the reluctance to partake in oral exercises in the English as a foreign language class. My academic background has been extensive and spread over several different academic fields. I have a BA Psychology, MA Psychoanalytic Studies and a PhD Sociology. I then transferred into the teaching languages field and undertook a PGDip TESOL, and followed that with English as a Foreign Language training course, the Cambridge CELTA. Alongside my research I also work as a self-employed Proof Reader, write articles for academic journals and I am also writing a book. I have knowledge of many different academic fields beyond my academic qualifications. I have knowledge of Education, TESOL and teaching English, Psychology, Psychoanalytic Studies and Sociology. I have written articles on business and finance, Middle Eastern history, and Chinese Economics. I have proof read academic work from every academic discipline except Mathematics. I am aware of plagiarism, and can competently write a well-structured, smooth flowing piece of academic work, with an appropriate academic style.
