About me:

I achieved a First Class degree in Linguistics and Phonetics from a UK University, before taking a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in London. I worked as a teacher in an inner London primary school for five years and co-ordinated the ethnic minority achievement service, studying for a Postgraduate Certificate in Ethnic Minority Achievement, for which I gained a Merit. At the same time, I led in sustainable schools and pupil voice. I am currently a freelance writer, contributing articles in education, news, arts, fitness and travel to a range of print and online publications.

I am able to write pieces on linguistics, and on a range of education issues. I am particularly qualified to write in regards to bilingualism, endangered languages, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, language change, ethnic minority achievement in education, pupils for whom English is an additional language, racial equality and community cohesion in education, sustainable schools and pupil voice.

My other interests include environmental issues, international development and disability issues, and I would be happy to write about any of these areas. I am also a marathon runner and able to write in relation to running and general fitness.
